Remarkable find! I also discovered why I was having trouble trying to load the magazine with a brass tube--it was too large!

My improved primer the piston is pushed down as far as desired by the tube full of pellets in the usual manner, but care is taken to place the slit of the tube opposite the shut off (my tube did not have a slit either, and after examining the original tubes more closely, the metal is too thick ), The shut off is then pushed forward and the point of its wedge-like front portion, 13, entering the tube above the caps retains them in the magazine while the tube is being drawn out & after it is drawn out, without any trouble to the operator.
I also have to re-examine how I assembled the system---looking at Lawrence's drawings the magazine cover appears to be oriented differently than how I installed mine in the photo-essay. Always learn something new everyday.
