AS mentioned in a previous post, I am working with Woolrich to develop a new Berdan Frock Wool Supply. They are working from the first
Pat Klein material which was a little darker in color than his last run.

I am being told, the material will be between $12-$16 per yard and I would have to purchase 400 yards.

I started this new topic, so we can keep track of the progress and have a dedicated topic. Feel free to add to this and keep an eye on the latest news.

Brian, When I get a sample piece from them , I will forward it to you for your thoughts.

Can they provide a sample first or are they telling you we'd have to buy 400 yards just to lay hands on any? It would be nice to test the stuff for colorfastness.

Guys,

I have not heard of or seen any problems with colorfastness in custom Woolrich yardgoods while working in the sewing business. Not only have my business partner and I contracted for custom goods with them, but so have a few other "big name" vendors in authentic uniforms. Since Woolrich does their own weaving, dyeing and finishing in-house they have very good quality control.

I hope to see some samples when they become available...I'll definitely check back to this topic!

Since I have an inside connection thru a friend , we do not have to accept anything until we are 100% happy. I am working with their chief of the Mill, thru my friend in my CS Artillery unit. We have been friends for 5+ years and they are both stand up guys.

I believe this is the way they work with all custom orders....I will keep you all posted.

Awesome, just would hate to see a big investment end up with fading issues, or something else.

We will not have that problem with Woolrich material.

This might have been overlooked but would anyone have a small swatch even just a very small piece of the old Pat Klein Material? If you do and be willing to let me have a small piece I would appriciate it. Thanks Guys.
