Fellow Sharpshooters;
Listed on Ebay is the CDV of a unidentified US Sharpshooter. The backdrop is the US Painted Tent that is featued in many USSS posing with their Sharps rifles. Due to the presence of the 3rd Army Corps badge on his forage cap, it is likely that the image was taken between April-May 1863. The image is dark but shows a bearded man in full USSS kit and Sharps rifle. For those of you who have only seen images from books--this is a nice opportunity to study a new image that has only recently come to light.
Also listed is a Tipton cabinet card of the Vermont (Co. F) 1st USSS monument in Pitzers Wood at Gettysburg. It was taken on July 2nd 1886 and listed as No. 111 in Tipton's Photographic Views of the Battlefield of Gettysburg catalog.
