started CW about 1994-95. wanted to do berdan a few years later. still fine tuning the impression. when i am not in brogans, i have been known to be found under a testudo or in a halftrack.

i too chum around with Co. F of the 1st and am actively recruiting on the Great Plains.

I like body ink. [thinks about getting 2nd or 3rd Corps. tats.]

Howdy! My name is Calum, and I am in the greater Pittsburgh PA area. I've lurked for some time (and enjoyed the site and forum considerably). My unit is the Blue and Gray Brigade (www.blueandgraybrigade.org), we represent both Federal and Confederate units, with the primary one being the 116 PVI Co K. The USSS has interested me, and thanks to a find of a used Berdan's uniform, I am putting together a USSS impression. I am relatively new to CW reenacting (this will be my fourth season), but I have done medieval reenacting with the SCA since 1985ish. Back to lurking...

Greetings all.

Name here is Mike I am in Minnesota. I ran across a gentleman doing a Berdan impression at a local Fort up here. Once again the bug has bitten me to get going in this time period.

I have done WW2 impressions but have been kicking CW period around for a bit.

Thought I would see whats out there and found this site. Look forward to getting geared up and being a part of this fine hobby.

Hello All,
Dave, perhaps you remember me. I was a member here berfore the shut down. I had some Pics posted of my uniform from Milk Creek in OR. I even sent you a sample of the cloth. I met some of you at the 2006 Remembrance Day parade before I deployed Afghanistan in Jan 2007. although I fell in with the other group. I have since retired from active duty and am now sporting some good facial hair. I don't live at Ft Bragg, NC anymore. I now reside in Stafford, VA w/my family.

Hello Members. I am doing genealogical research on my family and recently discovered that my grandfather's uncle was a private in Co. "D", 1st U.S. Sharpshooters. I hope to find more information about him and "Berdan's Sharpshooters" on your great site. Thank you. Greg

Greetings All,

I've been doing Union Infantry as a grunt for the past 12 or so years so I decided to give the other side a shot. That turned out not so much to my liking. Theres a couple of us talking about doing a Berdan impression that will allow me to stay associated with my old unit but try out something new.

While I openly admit I fall short of the authenic campaigner mold, I do appreciate the quality of reenactor on this board and therefore the advice that comes with it.

Thanks for the opportunity to participate on this board.
Chris
