I am looking for a USSS forage cap made by Mike Stiles of Superior Cap Company. Please PM me if you have one you would consider parting with. Thank you.

Sir,

Contact Dan Wambaugh of Wambaugh, White and Co. A Mike Stiles, Type 2 (rounded visor, large crown) USSS cap came up for sale early this week and was posted on the Authentic Campaigner website. The post has come down, but the cap might still be available.

Thank you Mr. Skillman. I saw the USSS forage cap shortly after Dan posted it for sale and was successful in obtaining it.

Sir,

Congratulations on your purchase. Mike used to live in Elk Rapids, a town just north of us here in Traverse City. He was instrumental in reactivating the 'Lakeshore Tigers' of Co. 'A' 26th Michigan-(a reenacting/living history unit that did presentations at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and other events in NW Michigan) the largest single contingent of men from the Grand Traverse region to serve in the War. Mike has since moved back to Cherry Valley, New York. I haven't heard if he has started to make caps again; but his materials and workmanship is superior to the majority of cap makers out there.
