This is being sold as a Rare Original Medal, It is a reproduction. Look at the detail in the original stock of both rifles. Fellow Sharpshooters. Dave is correct. The Berdan Sharpshooters medal (on the right) is a fairly nice reproduction created by Dan Davis and/or members of Co. G. 1st USSS (NSSA) fellows out of Wisconsin. Thom Winter sold a number of these medals to USSS enthusiasts when he had his business in Gettysburg. I purchased 4 for my own use, plus the smaller tie-tacs. I don't know if Dan has any more of the medals or tie-tacs available or is interested in selling them. Dan/Co. G-1 Sharpshooters' NSSA website is: http://www.geocities.com/wr1usss/ http://www.geocities.com/wr1usss/pin.htm  A couple of the Badgers fell in with us many years ago at a Midwest reenactment and when our skirmish line got pressed by an advancing CSA line these lads went to work with their Sharps---THEY WERE FAST!!! They easily kept the '10 rounds a minute' pace and possibly a wee bit faster. NSSA shooting competitions are based upon accuracy and speed--and the Badgers were 'poetry in motion' to watch; if your a Sharpshooter that is.
