The American Civil War Society, in the United Kingdom, are hosting an International Event to comemorate the 150th anniversary of the of the commencement the war between the states. All ACW reenactors are welcome to attend and take part. The event is to take place on the weekend of the 6th and 7th of August 2011, in the grounds of Rockingham Castle, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, England. The invitation is being put out now, so people can budget for any travel arrangements. If anyone is interested in attending please email me on officer@ussharpshooters.co.uk

We have an officer of our society who will be overseeing the visitors firearms licences, and there will also be a liason officer in due course.

I would be thrilled to have as many fellow Sharpshooters join us as can possibly make it. The site is fantastic, and the weather should be good in August.

This is just a question as I'm not to familiar with the U.K. Laws on Firearms. But don't all firearms have to be smoothbore there? I couldn't recall?

we do have firearms over here, for those that want to shoot live, its just easyer for the new recruits to start with a shotgun/smoothbore license.
so no problem with bringing your own guns if you want to come over.

I watched the videos on the one site. Like the ostrich feathers you guys wear! Early war, right?

I'm sure if you ever found your way to this side of the Atlantic we could work you in to a Co. C event!
