Gentleman,

Presently the No Casino Gettysburg movement has been making some headway in the PA legislature to create a Casino Free Buffer Zone around Gettysburg.
Rep Santarsiero is proposing an amendment to the Table Games legislation that would change the verbage so that:

“(1) No Category 3 license shall be located by the board within 15 linear miles of another licensed facility or within 15 linear miles of Gettysburg National Military Park.”

However, while we have been in contact with numerous Representatives in the PA House, some are saying that the amendment may not get to be heard because of technicalities in procedure. We are asking that, all that are able and willing, to email all of the PA senators immediately, requesting that they:

“Consider creating a similar amendment to one proposed by Steve Santarsiero (House Amendment #A05118) to the table gaming bill on the Senate side if possible, or a separate piece of legislation to achieve the same if an amendment cannot be proposed at this point in the legislative process.”

Please emphasize the points that:
1. A casino/resort gambling establishment built too close to the community would be disrespectful to memory of the men who fought and died there.
2. A casino would threaten the guaranteed civil war tourism
3. Gettysburg is a family friendly educational location
4. Gettysburg is a living memorial to the value of service and sacrafice, the horrors of war, and a testament to the difficulties our nation has endured and should learn from.

A list of their email address is available here:

I've written to the PA senate before when LeVan tried this last time. Do you think that the opinions of an out-of-stater matter to them? Should I write again?
