Hello,,I am Mark and I live in Maryland. I signed on to see if there is anymore info floating around regarding serial numbers for Berdan DST Sharps Rifles. I own #57283 and will probably never know who owned it and how it reached my family,in upstate New York. The rifle saw a great deal of use and was missing a few parts . I recently had it put back together with original parts , except for the hammer. So , I am aslo searching for an original hammer. Thanks for listening.
Mark

Mark,

I would recommend S&S Firearms (http://www.ssfirearms.com/) as a source for replacement parts. Also Lodgewood (http://www.lodgewood.com/) Firearms has plenty of parts. My partner, Dan Wambaugh, purchased from Bill Lodgewood all of the parts needed to revive his Lawrence Pellet primer system for his Garrett Sharps when we were at Mansfield, Ohio a couple weekends ago. Both businesses have original hammers for NM1859's.
